This provides scalability, redundancy, and continuous operation support through its network of 23 ground stations worldwide, revolutionising IoT connectivity by allowing seamless switching between terrestrial and satellite networks.

Sateliot, known for operating the first low-Earth orbit (LEO) nanosatellite constellation with 5G IoT standards, has integrated its satellite communication stack with Leaf Space’s Ground Segment as a Service (GSaaS) Network. This collaboration is vital for the upcoming SpaceX Transporter-11 mission, where Sateliot will launch four new 6U satellites to enhance global 5G IoT connectivity.

Leaf Space’s GSaaS enables Sateliot to scale efficiently, offering redundancy and support for continuous operations. The network consists of 23 ground stations worldwide, supporting over 100 satellites and ensuring seamless coverage and reliability. By utilizing Leaf Space’s network as a 5G point of presence, Sateliot aims to transform IoT connectivity, enabling seamless switching from terrestrial to satellite networks with standard commercial devices. The partnership highlights the strength of the European space ecosystem, with both companies leveraging their expertise to drive global innovation and connectivity. Upon launch, the new 6U satellites will use Leaf Space’s In-orbit check-in service during the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP), ensuring reliable communication from deployment through a geographically diverse network.

This collaboration underscores the potential of the European space ecosystem and provides Sateliot with scalability and redundancy mechanisms without significant capital expenditure in the ground segment. As Sateliot continues to expand its constellation, the partnership with Leaf Space will play a crucial role in maintaining robust and efficient operations, driving forward global IoT connectivity.

Jonata Puglia, CEO of Leaf Space, stated, “We are thrilled to support Sateliot’s 5G NB-IoT satellites in orbit. Our global network is ready to support satellites during the upcoming Transporter-11 launch and the commencement of their IoT services.”

Jaume Sanpera, CEO of Sateliot, commented, “This is significant progress for the European space ecosystem. We are demonstrating end-to-end services that ensure seamless global IoT connectivity, showcasing the power of collaboration and technological advancement within our industry.”
