The companies have partnered for the pre-installation of Total Security software in refurbished IT devices to ensure cyber security.

Quick Heal, a global cybersecurity firm, announced on Thursday a partnership with NewJaisa Technologies, a direct-to-consumer refurbished electronics brand. Their collaboration aims to enhance cybersecurity measures within the refurbished electronics market.

According to a company statement, Quick Heal’s Total Security solution will come pre-installed on all refurbished laptops and desktops sold by NewJaisa as a part of the partnership.

Vishesh Handa, CEO of NewJaisa Technologies, highlighted that the partnership will enhance their market position and address essential security issues in the refurbished electronics sector. He also noted that it could create opportunities for new market expansion.

Vishal Salvi, CEO of Quick Heal Technologies, emphasised the necessity of offering strong security solutions across all device segments, given the anticipated growth in the refurbished sector, particularly in India.

He commented that integrating Quick Heal’s Total Security solution into NewJaisa’s refurbished products ensures comprehensive protection for a wider range of consumers.

The refurbished IT equipment market comprises 1.5 million units, representing about 10-11% of the total market. Dominated by the unorganised sector, NewJaisa aims to mainstream refurbished electronics.

Soon after the agreement, on Thursday, Quick Heal’s shares closed at Rs 519.50 each on the BSE, a decrease of 0.25% compared to the previous day. Similarly, NewJaisa’s shares closed at Rs 123 each on the NSE, marking a 2.54% decline from the last closing price.

NewJaisa Technologies, founded by alumni from IIT and IIM, is India’s sole listed company in the refurbished electronics sector. Its automated reverse supply chain for IT assets allows substantial discounts on refurbished products compared to new ones.

Quick Heal Total Security offers robust digital protection with GoDeep.AI, leveraging AI for predictive malware detection and cloud-based learning. With 30 years in business, Quick Heal integrates dark web monitoring, smart parenting tools, anti-ransomware, and metaProtect for remote device management.
