Hisense Appoints Pankaj Rana As Group CEO To Lead India Operations

With over two decades of experience in the consumer electronics segment, as the new Group CEO, Rana will be leading the expansion strategy of Hisense in India.

Chinese consumer electronics manufacturer Hisense International has appointed Pankaj Rana as the Group CEO of its India arm, Hisense India. 

Rana succeeds former Group CEO Pranab Mohanty, who left the company earlier this year in January. With his experience spanning over two decades in driving digital transformation across different organisations in the consumer electronics industry, Rana will be heading initiatives to drive the overall business growth at Hisense India. His responsibilities will include expanding the customer base and strengthening brand presence in India.

In his last role as Business Head and Department Leader at LG Electronics, Rana led digital transformation initiatives, doubling the e-commerce business and increasing profitability. He was also responsible for implementing big data analytics for personalised customer campaigns.

His association with Pansonic lasted for more than a decade, with his last role as Business Chief and Associate Director of Panasonic, where he led the Sanyo product line initiatives. 

In the company statement, Steven Li, managing director of Hisense India acknowledged Rana’s extensive industry knowledge remarked that his leadership acumen would be invaluable for Hisense’s expansion and growth in India.

Rana is well-known for his emphasis on customer-centricity, digital transformation, and hyper-personalization for enhanced customer experience. He has stressed on the importance of fair consumer practices and establishing a culture of transparency within organisations on multiple platforms.

Hisense International’s presence is spread across 160 markets, including Australia, the US, Japan, Mexico, and South Africa. It has 14 manufacturing facilities located in countries like South Africa, Slovenia, Serbia, Mexico, and the Czech Republic. The company is known for its laser TVs, ULED displays, image quality chips, 5G communication, AIoT, and ultra-high definition displays.
