Monday, November 03, 2014: Saturday, November 01, 2014: An investment has been made by Tata group in a Switzerland based start-up solar company at the time when European companies are competing against each other to participate in the Indian solar energy market as this market has huge potential as per the growing needs.
The Swiss company Flisom’s COO Sudheer Kumar said that Tata is an investor in the company which is quite a significant step. As per Flisom CEO Ulfert Ruhle, there are still no major stakeholders in the company right now, Tata’s investment means a lot for them in dealing with solar energy production equipment. Both the chief officials of the company agreed that Indian solar market has huge potential to meet future energy requirements which are growing in India. Kumar also added that their company is focused on developing copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) solar cells which are best suited for India’s needs.
He also added that manufacturing these solar cells cost less, offering higher efficiency and speed. Meyer Burger is another company which deals with PV cells and solar plants in Indian states, Gujarat and Kerala. They are also planning huge business in Indian markets in collaboration with Indian companies. Peter Pauli, CEO of Meyer Burger said his company is planning to set up solar projects in rural India. Several Swiss companies are getting involved in the solar energy market in this country with more support from the pro-solar Indian government.
