Wednesday, April 09,2014: Delhi-based AV Systems, a video surveillance solutions provider, has robust plans for business expansion. With the recent expansion of its video surveillance solutions portfolio and its entry into the visitor management solutions domain, the company is looking for aggressive channel expansion.

It is planning to double its partner base from 800 to 1600 by 2014-end. “With the recent increase in our product offerings, we now cover the entire portfolio of physical security and surveillance products —from IP and analogue cameras to visitor management systems. Channel expansion will play a major role in fulfilling our growth ambitions,” said Anurag Sehgal, managing director, AV Systems.

AV Systems aims to double its revenue from Rs 450 million in 2013 to Rs 900 million in 2014. Currently, video surveillance contributes 50 per cent to its revenues and the rest comes from specialised solutions.

Eyeing Tier II and III cities

Focused more on video surveillance in 2014, the company is looking for opportunities in Tier II and III cities. “While we have a robust presence in Tier I cities, the market is getting saturated. We are therefore tapping the potential in remote locations. The Central and state governments are investing a lot on security and surveillance in offices, public places and sensitive areas. Most of these projects are in remote places,” explained Sehgal.

In addition, many new offices and commercial hubs are coming up in Tier ll and lll cities, which necessitates surveillance. Even SMB customers at these locations are looking for affordable solutions. Sehgal added, “These are the locations where partners can grab deals and implement solutions with our range of products and technical expertise. Currently, 50 per cent of our video surveillance revenues come from channels, but this will increase significantly.”

New launches and new partners

The company recently introduced IP cameras with ultra low light imaging system (ULLIS) technology, which demists and defogs the cameras to offer clear visibility at night or during heavy fog. It also launched a 1200 TVL camera for high picture quality.

AV Systems recently implemented a perimeter security surveillance project for the Indian consulate in Kandhar and Jalalabad in Afghanistan. “This is a crucial project as the locations are highly sensitive, with harsh, extreme weather ranging from 45°℃C to -8°℃C accompanied by heavy fog. We implemented cameras with ULLIS technology to deliver clear pictures even during foggy nights. This helped us bag a similar project for the Indian consulate in Kabul,” said Sehgal.

Further, AV Systems recently partnered with US-based Instant Tactical Solutions for visitor management solutions. The solution, Instatac, offers robust verification checks like photo verification and SMS code verification through the integration of Google Nexus tablets with a cloud-based database.

With increasing crime, visitor management has become crucial for resident welfare associations as well as corporate houses. The Instatac solution enables users to verify the authenticity of credentials provided by the visitors. The system also enables users to blacklist and whitelist people, for added convenience,” said Sehgal.

AV Systems expects Instatac to contribute at least 10 per cent to its revenues in 2014, and is scouting for systems integrators and software reseller partners.
